Instructions

Virginia and Massachusetts were the first two colonies founded in British North America, and at the time of the American Revolution 150 years later they were still two of the largest colonies (in population).

But Virginia and Massachusetts were founded by very different people for very different reasons, and each colony developed a distinctive character.  The two colonies maintained their distinctive characters throughout the colonial period.  (And, if you have been to both states, you know that they maintain their distinctive characters to this day.)

In this activity, based largely on the reading for this week, you will take a quiz that compares Virginia and Massachusetts in the seventeenth century (1600s).

As a reminder, activities are open for two weeks only.  When the activity is a quiz (such as this one), you can take the quiz as often as you wish; Canvas will keep your highest score.

Only registered, enrolled users can take graded quizzes
